record £6 million Tranman deal
RAC Software Solutions has signed a subcontract agreement with the UK MoD and the Amey Lex Consortium (ALC) for the provision of a fleet management system to support the C Vehicle Private Finance Initiative (PFI).
The contract requires RAC Software Solutions to deliver a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) package for 500 users and provide ongoing support for the next 15 years. With the pre-work already provided the contract will deliver circa £6 million of revenues.
The software will deliver to the contractor, ALC, a fleet administration system, a billing system linked to performance and availability and an incident management package, which enables any events to be escalated and followed through a process of traffic lights to completion. For the client, the Ministry of Defence, it provides a means to task their driver and equipment resources, smooth the procurement of parts and monitor key performance indicators.
Aidan Rowsome, MD for RAC Software Solutions said, “It is without doubt a milestone project for the company. Winning this contract gives me great personal pride, not only in the solutions that RAC Software provide but also in the people who deliver them”.
The C Vehicle programme will provide a worldwide fleet of construction plant and field mechanical handling equipment operated typically by the Royal Engineers and Royal Logistics Corps respectively. This fleet will include cranes, dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers, rough terrain forklifts and container handlers.
The RAC/Lex involvement with the project, full value £600 million, started with Tranman being selected as the Management Information System (MIS) by Amey.
