VT Software Solutions helps Fleet Managers harness the power of the internet
The internet is now used extensively both at work and home, and because of this all suppliers, including fleet management software providers are using the internet to provide the most up to date information to a wider range of users than ever before.
The internet is a fantastic tool for gathering information and publishing reports. For many years Tranman customers have been using the internet to enable their customers and drivers to view information such as vehicle records, maintenance details, fuel usage, vehicle utilisation and for reporting vehicle defects.
However, we believe the internet needs to be used where it is most appropriate and can provide the greatest benefit, not just for the sake of web enabling your products. For example, entering multiple transactions via a web browser, such as vehicle maintenance records, can be very slow and time consuming. The entire form needs to be completed and submitted before any validation takes place. The form validation process may then report back to highlight a specific field has been completed incorrectly, a familiar situation to anyone who has mistyped their credit card number on a long order form on the internet. To avoid these delays, immediate validation on the data entered would prevent this problem.
Tranman has adopted an approach to allow our customers to have the best of all worlds, with a mix of user interfaces to suit their roles and requirements. Functionally rich software for office based customers, to facilitate large amounts of data entry, written in the most modern Windows development language. An internet client for users who require form based data entry and general enquires from multiple locations, and a mobile client for use with the latest PDA / mobile handheld devices allowing data entry from any location.
Ian Searle, Sales and Marketing Director, VT Software Solutions says, “Our strategy for the next five years is to design our software to be fit for each of our customers’ requirements, using the latest technologies, hardware platforms and programming languages / techniques to achieve this.
