fountains plc chooses Tranman to manage 550 strong fleet and reduce costs
fountains plc, the leading environmental service provider is installing Tranman from RAC Software Solutions to manage its fleet of 400 vehicles and 150 items of plant.
Tranman will replace a mixture of manual and in-house developed systems to substantially improve the management and control of the fountains fleet, which includes chippers, chain saws, tractors, trailers and quad bikes. The award winning Tranman fleet management software is suitable for all types of fleet, containing key fleet management modules, plus excellent facility for work authorisation and job control.
Tranman will be used over two locations – Banbury and Kendal. The former will control the car fleet, while Kendal is responsible for HGV and plant, plus it houses the workshop that will now be better managed through Tranman.
Incident management will also be improved as fountains will now record which drivers have been operating what plant, that licences have been checked and who has undergone driver training.
Ross Harris, Fleet Manager, fountains, says: “Our main objective for installing Tranman was to gain better control of the fleet and reduce costs. I can already see the benefits; there is a substantial reduction in paperwork and administration, plus greater visibility of costs. Tranman will enable us to better utilise our fleet and will help to monitor and control whole life costs. The management reporting facility will be a very valuable tool, particularly in terms of identifying which plant achieves optimum utilisation and what level of specification is required. This will also enable us to provide our customers with recommendations and costs based on historical usage data.”
Ross continues, “When we first identified the need fOr a fleet management software system we carried out a great deal of research and looked at a number of options. However, we soon found that when it came to our requirement for an additional HGV module, the costs started to escalate, whereas with Tranman it was part of the package. We were also recommended Tranman by our police contacts, which sealed it for us.”
