RAC Software budget response
With the Chancellor announcing in today’s Budget speech that fuel duty will be frozen until 1 September, Aidan Rowsome, Managing Director of RAC Software Solutions responds: “Although in the short term this is good news, it is worth looking to the long-term inevitability that fuel duty will increase. This certainly seems to be the viewpoint of many of our clients as we have seen a marked increase in fleet managers requesting training for the fuel management service within Tranman.”
Aidan continues: “Over the past 12 months we have been monitoring training requests and usage of Tranman. Up until a year ago the only clients who used our fuel management module to its full potential were in the public sector. However, that is changing and we are seeing greater emphasis being thrown on improving fuel management within our private sector clients.”
“Many more Tranman users are beginning to use our fuel management facility in a positive way, to monitor individual driver consumption with a view to taking steps to reduce costs through driver training, making them more aware of how to drive more economically. Alternatively, some use it to check for fuel card abuse and rein in costs that way.” Aidan concludes.
